The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Friday that the funeral prayers of the soldiers who embraced martyrdom in yesterday’s motorcycle-borne suicide bombing in the Jani Khel district of Bannu have been offered.

The ISPR issued a statement promising “full military honor” for the deceased soldiers’ burials in their hometowns.
Senior officers and troops from the military and civilian administration attended the funeral prayers.
“Armed Forces of Pakistan stand resolute and committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the motherland at all costs,” the military’s media wing said.
A suicide attack on a military convoy occurred the day before in Jani Khel in the Bannu district, resulting in the deaths of at least nine soldiers and the injuries of five more.

ISPR released a statement saying, “A motorcycle-borne suicide bomber exploded himself on a military convoy.”
The military’s media arm also reported that “nine soldiers, including Naib Subedar Sanobar Ali, embraced shahadat,” while five others were hurt.
The ISPR reported that security forces had roped off the area in order to “sanitize” it and eradicate any terrorists who could be hiding out there.
To quote a senior Pakistani military official: “The security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”
Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the interim prime minister, expressed his sadness over the deaths of nine brave troops from Bannu Division.
