Umar has submitted an apology to the ECP over the contempt matter.
The head of the PTI has stated that neither party has scandalized the commission nor attempted to malign it.

ISLAMABAD: In the contempt case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf General Secretary Asad Umar has apologized to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Secretary General Umar, and Vice President Fawad Chaudhry were the targets of a contempt case heard before the ECP.
Nothing about the ECP, according to Umar, should be interpreted as an insult. “I apologise if the ECP still thinks it was humiliated. I surrender to its will.
The PTI leader also responded to the show-cause notice in his submission.
Umar responded by claiming that the notice that the electoral monitoring secretary had sent was unlawful. “The ECP, and not its secretary, may send a show-cause notice.”
The PTI leader claimed that nothing he said could be construed as showing disdain, and that he didn’t try to discredit or scandalise the ECP; rather, he “just made proper comments and legitimate criticism.”
According to Umar, the party reacted to the ECP’s bias against it. “The ECP gave a unilateral report based on malice in the restricted funding case.” The commission, according to him, labelled it a foreign-funded party and forwarded the matter to the government for resolution. Because PTI cases are given short deadlines and other cases are given extended deadlines, the ECP exclusively hears cases that are against the PTI. He claimed that only the PTI’s investigation was complete in the funding situation as well.
Elections were taking place in their constituency, according to Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry’s attorney Faisal Chaudhry. “Fawad and I are running for office together. So it would be reasonable to announce the date following the election.
Faisal promised to make an effort to show up at the subsequent hearing and deliver his defence of the concerns. The hearing was postponed until Feb. 28 by the ECP.
