The employees who were protesting also abstained from office work and the anti-polio campaign. They threatened to keep protesting until their demand was satisfied.

However, the CEO of the district health authority declared that the personnel who refused to complete their tasks will face disciplinary action.

Speaking to the demonstrators, Malik Attaullah Sajid, President of the Extended Progeramme on Immunization (EPI) Welfare Association, noted that health professionals face inclement weather and travel to isolated locations to provide children immunizations and polio drops in order to effectively combat the disease.

He expressed regret about the impoverished polio workers’ lack of fuel allowance for the past three months. He claimed that every month, millions of rupees were embezzled from the national coffers, yet gasoline for the polio squads was not being supplied.

Mian Amir Karim, one of the demonstrators’ leaders, declared that all workers would back them up until their demands were fulfilled.

The officials in charge were charged by the speakers with disregarding the condition of the workers.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Muhammad Idris Khan Laghari claimed in response to a call for comment that the vaccine providers’ protest was pointless.

The district health officer, to whom no formal request has been made, is responsible for resolving their issue.

According to him, some vaccine providers were suspended and given show-cause notices for their subpar work, at which point they started their protest.

The CEO issued a warning, stating that officials who fail to perform their field tasks will face severe consequences from the agency.
