As Bilawal visits Baghdad, Pakistan, and Iraq debate ways to deepen their ties.
An agreement to eliminate the need for visas for diplomatic and official passports was struck.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his Iraqi colleague and Deputy Prime Minister Fuad Hussein met in Baghdad on Monday to discuss further strengthening bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the two countries foreign ministers inked two memoranda of understanding (MoU). Both aim to “enhance cultural cooperation” and remove the need for visas for diplomatic and official passport holders.

According to Bilawal, Pakistan and Iraq share a “deep brotherly relationship.” According to Radio Pakistan, the two discussed several elements of the diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iraq.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Twitter that Bilawal arrived in Iraq on June 5 and will remain there until June 7 of the following year.

According to other tweets from the ministry, Bilawal and Hussein presided over a news conference in which they reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to fostering better bilateral relations.

When Bilawal spoke with Iraqi President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal, they shared mutual admiration and respect.
