A suspect in human smuggling and trafficking was caught. He later made a deal with the police to make things right with the victims, and they let him go.

Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari, who is the director of the FIA in Islamabad Zone, paid close attention and told the people in charge to file a case against both officers after an investigation.

There was an investigation because Muhammad Rafi told the FIA Human Trafficking Cell about what happened. The FIR says that an agent named Imran Khan lied to Muhammad Rafi, his four cousins, and other family members and friends by telling them they could get work in Saudi Arabia.

Khan got Rs1.1 million from their EasyPaisa and mobile cash accounts and used Sixth Road to steal their papers. But neither the people who were sent to Saudi Arabia to find work nor the money that was sent back (including hospital bills that exceeded Rs1 million) were reimbursed.

Officers Bilal Awan and Aqib Mehmood of the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell went on a raid in Faizabad without telling any higher-ups about it after the case was sent to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). They arrested Imran Khan. Later, after offering to make things right, the suspect was let go, but six passports, his ID card, and cell phone were kept.

An FIA spokesperson said that both cops have been suspended and arrested because of their part in the case. They have also been charged with a crime. There is now a probe going on, and raids are happening to catch the agent named in the case.
