On Sunday, PIA’s country manager in China, Bilal Afzal, said that the airline has partnered with Air China to launch direct flights between Beijing and 16 exciting cities in Pakistan.

He told APP on the sidelines of the China International Fair for Trade in Service (CIFTIS) in Beijing that these cities in China include Guangzhou, Wuhan, Urumqi, Shenzhen, Xian, Shenyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nanjing, Harbin, Hangzhou, Hohhot, Dunhuang, Chengdu, Changchun, and Chongqing.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has a booth at the CIFTIS’s Pakistan Pavilion to highlight the national flag carrier’s efforts to foster cultural exchange between Pakistanis and Chinese.

He added that those travelling from 16 other cities in China to Islamabad may also take advantage of this deal.

Currently, PIA only operates one weekly trip on the Islamabad–Beijing–Islamabad route, but they are planning to introduce another direct connection between the two nations starting this coming Sunday.

For students, he said, “PIA offers a 20 per cent discount with free baggage of 80 kg for economy class and 100 kg for executive economy respectively on flights between Pakistan and China.”

On September 20th, Azerbaijan Airlines will begin offering nonstop flights to Pakistan.

He said, “Passengers can save even more money by buying their tickets online.”

“We have also offered discounts on cargo from China to Pakistan and vice versa, and businessmen and traders could benefit from it,” he added.

“The Pakistani community in China, including businessmen and students, has expressed their delight over the price cuts.”

Hangzhou-based Pakistani educator Ali Imran told APP, “The connected flights to different destinations in China are a big relief and it provides great convenience to the passengers travelling between the two brotherly countries.”

Professionals and students in Pakistan would benefit immensely from the discounted fares and cargo service, he said, allowing them to visit their families more often.

When travelling between the two countries, travellers might also take advantage of the increased baggage allowance.
