DEADLY BUS CRASH NEAR SHEIKHUPURA CLAIMS AT LEAST SIX LIVES

SHEIKHUPURA: A bus full of Christian pilgrims was involved in a fatal accident near the Khanqah Dogran Interchange as they were on their way from Sialkot to Maryamabad. There were six fatalities and 57 major injuries as a result of the accident.

According to Sarmad Taimur, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sheikhupura, the bus overturned because of excessive speeding and overcrowding, killing a number of people and seriously injuring many more.

There was a rapid and well-coordinated reaction to the emergency. Rescue 1122 Sheikhupura, Edhi ambulances, DSP Traffic Tariq Jameel, and local police all hurried to the area as soon as they heard about the accident.

Because to their quick response, the injured were able to receive rapid care and were sent to local hospitals.

Thirty-seven of the injured passengers were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Sheikhupura, and twenty more were brought to the Rural Health Centre in Khanqah Dogran.

Sarmad Taimur, the Deputy Commissioner, went to the scene of the accident. There, he monitored rescue efforts and made sure that everything possible was done to help the victims.

The DC, along by Safdarabad’s Assistant Commissioner Ayusha Zafar, tried to reassure the injured that they would have access to all resources necessary for a speedy recovery.

DC Sheikhupura stated in a press conference that Edhi Foundation ambulances were used to transport the bodies of the victims to Sialkot.

He said that the District Headquarters Hospital in Sheikhupura had been placed on emergency status, calling for the immediate deployment of all available medical personnel.

Our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families as they deal with the aftermath of this awful catastrophe, he said.
