A police spokesman said that the Islamabad Capital Police had released a comprehensive security and traffic plan to ensure the safety and convenience of citizens ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. This was done at the direction of Islamabad’s Chief City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.

He claimed that approximately 1,500 police officers have been assigned to ensure order for Independence Day celebrations.

More than 550 traffic police officers will also be on duty to ensure that vehicles can move freely around the nation’s capital.

Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, ICCPO, reaffirmed the force’s dedication to maintaining law and order throughout the historic celebration.

“Senior officers will be actively present in the field, overseeing law enforcement and traffic management operations,” he said. Special pickets will be set up, and heightened security will be maintained in strategic locations, to keep the festivities running smoothly.

Mobile patrols by elite forces like the CTD Commandos and the Dolphin Force are being implemented as part of the preventative security measures. To further ensure the safety of families, special teams have been sent out to patrol parks and other public areas.

Islamabad Capital Police Chief/Deputy Inspector General for Operations Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari reaffirmed the force’s unshakable dedication to reducing crime in the capital city.

Those who attempt to cause trouble in the city will face severe consequences.

Infractions of law and order shall not be tolerated under any circumstances. He promised that those who broke the law would face swift and decisive action.

Citizens are also urged to work with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious items or behavior to local police via the “Pukar 15” hotline.
