GUJRAT, MUZAFFARABAD, and ISLAMABAD:
Greeks took Monday off to mourn the loss of life in a boat sinking last week; preliminary police reports estimate that the vessel was carrying 800 people.

On Monday, Greek authorities confirmed 80 deaths after recovering two more bodies. There were just 104 known survivors.

As more horrific information emerges about the trawler that sank last Wednesday off the coast of Greece, many are beginning to question the effectiveness of the state authorities tasked with the vital mission of preventing human trafficking.

On Monday, all government buildings around the country flew their flags at half-staff. According to the police investigation, one of the suspects claimed to having charged up to Rs3 million ($10,452.96) to transfer three men onto the boat, which could hold between 300 and 350 passengers.
