Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Open Mand-Pishin Border Market.

On Thursday, the Mand-Pishin border food market was officially opened by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi in an effort to increase bilateral trade.
This is one of six border markets that will be built along the shared border between Pakistan and Iran.
The border will serve as a bustling hub for boosting bilateral trade, stimulating economic expansion, and providing new opportunities for regional businesses.
As a symbol of their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, the two heads of state planted a tree at the border market.
Senior officials from both Pakistan and Iran were present, including the foreign ministers Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Hassan Rouhani. Also in attendance were the ministers of power and information.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Office, “The joint inauguration is a manifestation of the strong commitment of Pakistan and Iran to uplift the welfare of residents of the neighboring provinces of Balochistan and Sistan-Baluchestan, respectively.”
