Shahzad Akbar, the former accountability czar of the PTI administration, is the target of an expanded inquiry by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which is requesting a list of his assets and properties by March 6.

He has been charged with abuse of power and acquiring assets beyond his recognised sources of income.

The sources claim that Akbar’s information has been requested by the provincial development authorities by the country’s top corruption fighter.

The PML-N-led administration added Akbar’s name to the departure control list last year (ECL).

He reportedly lives in London right now, according to sources.

When a person with their name on the ECL returns from being overseas, they are typically detained and given to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Akbar is also charged with participating in the theft of Rs. 50 billion in a case involving a private housing project uncovered in the UK.
