In order to expedite the resolution of tax-related matters, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will designate a full-time departmental representative for courts, according to a statement made on Tuesday by Minister of Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar.

In place of a 15-day departmental representative to speak on behalf of FBR, the minister, who presided over a meeting on tax changes and revenue collection, said that the FBR will designate a full-time departmental representation.

“This will help handle tax-related cases properly and prevent cases from being adjourned.”

The minister of law also mentioned that a performa will be included in every report after a hearing to assess performance. In this regard, he said, the committee for alternative conflict resolution will be created.

Additionally, the law minister directed the FBR to update panel lists in order to increase their effectiveness. Additionally, it was determined to move forward with case resolution as soon as possible. Finally, the Federal Board of Revenue will receive legal help from the Law Ministry if needed.
