KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has lowered the one-way fares by 20% for Umrah pilgrims and by 30% for Saudi citizens and holders of employment visas.
The discount is valid for pilgrims traveling to Umrah between April 7 and April 11.
Travelers heading to Madina and Jeddah will be eligible for this discount.
This discount is also available to Umrah pilgrims traveling to Dammam and Riyadh.
The national airline is offering pilgrims making the Umrah a Rs50,000 discount on their economy class price.
For pilgrims traveling from the country’s south, including Karachi, the one-way economy class cost for the Umrah is Rs95,400.
Similarly, pilgrims traveling from the country’s north, which includes Lahore, will pay Rs103,600 for a one-way economy class ticket to perform the Umrah.
The national carrier has previously offered pilgrims making the Umrah a discount.
The pilgrims’ rates for the Umrah were reduced by Rs 6,000 by the PIA on November 3, 2003.
Many Muslims in Pakistan are happy with the recent decision because many of them want to conduct Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan.
