INTERNATIONAL NEWS DESK:
A video of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Asadur Rehman promising heavenly rewards to those welcoming former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at the party’s upcoming political rally at Minar-e-Pakistan has gone viral on social media, prompting widespread criticism, as reported by Express News.

In preparation for the former premier’s return on October 21, senior party aides are holding corner meetings to build support for the PML-N leader who has been living in exile in London for over four years.
Some of Nawaz’s political opponents aren’t happy with the party’s decision to hold a demonstration at the Minar-e-Pakistan in spite of the fact that the former prime minister’s popularity has been on the decline recently.
He told a Kamalia conference that on October 21, “angels would be compiling a list of those who would go to Minar-e-Pakistan to welcome Nawaz Sharif.” The PML-N politician is a former MNA from NA-954 Toba Tek Singh.
The PML-N leader was offering a “clearance certificate” to paradise without having to face any “reckoning” as an incentive for more people to attend the gathering.
The “certificate” of clearance was also handed out to those present at the meeting’s corner.
In the presence of Nawaz, the PML-N leader also claimed to have made similar claims. He recalls telling the former prime minister that angels would make a list of those waiting to greet him upon his return.
The reaction of Nawaz to his claims, however, was not revealed.
The leader of the PML-N is also running for president in the 2018 elections, which is worth noting. Khalilur Rehman Ramde, a former judge, is his brother.
Another PML-N leader did the same, promising biryani lunches and motorcycles to party workers in an effort to get more people to show up to the demonstration at Minar-e-Pakistan.
