ISLAMABAD
The joint session of parliament will meet on April 16, and the Senate session is set for April 8. On April 18, the National Assembly will convene in its first session of the current parliamentary term.
President Asif Ali Zardari has received the Senate session report from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, which has finished making all the necessary preparations for these sessions.
The 37 recently elected senators will be sworn in during the next Senate session, and the body will also choose its chairman and deputy chairman.
On April 16, President Zardari will speak to the joint session of parliament. Consequently, on April 18, the first session of the upcoming legislative year will begin.
The president will shortly receive summaries from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for both the new National Assembly session and the joint parliamentary session.
