ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court emphasized that the national park is for the people and that no commercial activity should take place there while requesting information on Thursday on the Monal Restaurant and other eateries on the Margalla Hills.

In the course of a Monal Restaurant lease dispute, the court was informed that around thirty-two hotels and restaurants, both big and small, have been erected on the Margalla Hills.

The court declared that these establishments would be given enough time to comply, but they would not be immediately evicted.

The bench, presided over by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, questioned how breaking the fast and dining at Monal Restaurant at night could be beneficial to the public. It underlined that research and public education should have access to the National Park. The adjournment of the hearing was set for after Eidul Fitr.
