Authorities have revoked the diplomatic passports of PTI officials.
It’s been speculated that Qureshi, too, may leave the party shortly.

ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, the federal government withdrew the diplomatic passports of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak, Sheikh Rashid, and six other PTI party officials.

This comes after several PTI members and leaders have been arrested, sued, and subjected to public campaigns of slander.

Fawad Chaudhry, Dr. Shireen Mazari, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi, Amir Kiani, Jai Prakash, Aftab Siddiqui, and Sanjay Gangwani are just a few of the prominent PTI members who have left the party in the previous week.

Notable figures such as Mazari and Fawad have stated their intention to go away from politics.

The Islamabad High Court has been hearing rumors that Qureshi, who has been in jail since May 11, may soon resign from the party. The local police have said they have no idea where he is. Pakistan’s top lawyer, Mansoor Usman Awan, told the judge that Qureshi was being held at the Adiala Jail.

Shortly after his release from Adiala Jail on May 24, former federal minister Asad Umar announced his resignation as PTI secretary general.

But Umar made it clear that he was staying with the PTI and not leaving.
Aun Abbasi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Ali Muhammad Khan, Farrukh Habib, Zartaj Gul, and Azam Khan Swati are just some of the other PTI politicians who have had their passports cancelled by the Directorate of Passport and Immigration.
