Extra Meetings Bail was granted to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader in the case filed at the Khanna Pul Police Station in Islamabad by Judge Syed Muhammad Haroon Shah.

Ali Bukhari, counsel representing Qureshi, argued in court, but a break was called before the government’s attorney could arrive.

The head of PTI was present during the proceedings.

Qureshi’s attorney maintained that the accusations were false. He insisted that Qureshi had neither witnessed the vandalism nor made any public statements. Legal representation argued in court for Qureshi’s bail confirmation, arguing that police were fabricating evidence against the PTI leader.

Qureshi, Asad Qaiser, and Asad Umer all had their charges relating to the May 9 vandalism released on interim bail by the Islamabad High Court earlier this week.

The court ordered the three accused to post surety bonds totaling Rs500,000.

Both Qureshi and Umar had been represented by counsel when they appeared before the IHC.
