RAWALPINDI: On Tuesday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Shaukat in Attock issued an order to register a complaint against the Attock City SHO and other police officers for their alleged involvement in an illegal raid on the home of former National Assembly Member Major Tahir Sadiq.
Major Tahir Sadiq and his housekeeper’s attorney, Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan, filed the appeal.
The petitioner claimed that on August 8 at 1am, a team of police officers led by the City SHO entered his client’s apartment and searched it without a warrant.
They allegedly assaulted the workers and kept asking where Major Tahir Sadiq was as they were searching for him.
The home of Zartaj Gul is the target of an ACE attack.
He added that the intruders damaged the property and forcibly removed the CCTV equipment and recordings.
After claiming that the police’s warrantless search of his home violated his client’s constitutional rights, the plaintiff played a video recording of the incident in court.
After reviewing the surveillance tape, the court found probable cause that a crime had been committed at the complainant’s residence.
The court then issued an order to file formal charges against the defendant.
