Following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, a judge at an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in LAHORE prolonged the judicial detention of numerous PTI MPs in various cases brought against them for allegedly creating law and order concerns, arson, and mayhem.
Ex-Punjab governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, ex-Provincial Minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, ex-Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, ex-Health Minister Dr. Yasmeer Rashid, and ex-Finance Minister’s daughter Khadija Shah were all brought before the aforementioned court on various charges.
In the case of suspected law and order disruption, arson, and mayhem involving Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, and Khadija Shah, the ATC court has prolonged the judicial remand till July 31.
The police have informed the court that the accused persons’ challan is currently being drafted and would be submitted to the court shortly.
The judge agreed with the pleading of the IOs and ordered the challans to be filed as soon as practicable.
The judge at the ATC has also decided to keep Dr. Yasmeen Rashid in jail for further investigation into her hate speech and incitement against authorities.
