A house fire in Lower Kohistan claimed the lives of 10 persons.
13 additional people were rescued throughout the operation, however, one person is still missing.

 

KOHISTAN: A house in the Siri Pattan neighborhood of Lower Kohistan caught fire and the roof collapsed on the occupants, killing at least 10 members of the same family, including women, children, and adults, and injuring 13 others.

Sajid Ali, the district emergency officer, said APP on Friday that Nawab Wali Muhammad Khan’s home in the Siri Pattan neighborhood of Lower Kohistan caught fire overnight. The roof of the house collapsed as a result of the fire, he said, trapping the occupants below.

Nawab Khan’s wife, his five daughters, and his son were all instantly killed, while three other people were hurt.

Ali claimed that as soon as the rescue effort was launched, Rescue 1122, the fire department, and the ambulance arrived on the scene. Teams from Upper Kohistan and Shangla were also requested to help rescue the victims entombed in the debris owing to the fire’s severity.

Rescue 1122, according to him, saved 13 people during the search operation and transported the injured to the hospital, where three of them were receiving medical attention.

One individual was still missing as of the time this news item was filed, according to representatives of Rescue 1122.
