Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave the national hockey team a Rs30 million cheque on Tuesday for getting a silver medal in the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament. She invited them to her office.

“Hockey is not only our national sport, but also a national pride,” the CM said. She also said that when the 13-year plan works, hockey players at all levels will be encouraged and helped.

The leader of the country said that the hockey team had made the whole country proud and that they would get all the help they need. At every level in Punjab, hockey will be promoted through competitions.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif talked about how important national hockey was to Pakistan’s history and promised that she and the Prime Minister would do everything they could to help the team get back to its former glory.

She also said, “Please accept my congratulations on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and myself.” We are very proud of the fact that you have raised the national standard in hockey.

“Seeing young players from all over the country, I can say that more success will be had in the future with help and attention,” she said. In Punjab, a young person was named sports minister, and she said that person had done a lot in a short time.

At every level, hockey players will get help. The job of bringing sports back to life has been given to Faisal Khokhar, who is the minister of sports. She said that sports would be brought to every street and neighbourhood in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that schools will get better if money is given to help hockey grow. International experts will also be brought in to help with the training.

The players on the national hockey team told the CM that they would do everything they could to win more medals for the country.

A lot of important people were there, including Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Information Secretary Ahmed Aziz Tarar, Sports Secretary Muzaffar Sial, and others.
