DC has been cracking down on transporter crime. Peshawar is in charge of the operation to check cars leaving and entering the city’s various bases.

The district government in Peshawar has begun cracking down on taxi and cab drivers who charge extortionate rates.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Shah Fahad oversaw an operation to examine transport trucks at city exits and bases with the help of the Regional Transport Authority and Traffic Police.

The group issued fines to 12 drivers who overcharged their customers and made sure those customers got their money back.

Kohat Bus Stand, Charsadda, Karkhano, Lahore, and General Bus Stand were only few of the locations where RTA administrative staff and traffic police conducted vehicle inspections.

Transportation in Peshawar would continue to be monitored by district administration, regional transport authority, and traffic police, according to the deputy commissioner.

Overcharging concerns will be handled swiftly thanks to a dedicated control room set up at the DC branch.

Many passengers have complimented the cops on their work and expressed gratitude for the smooth running of the operation.

This crackdown should serve as a warning to transport companies that they will face legal action if they overcharge their customers.
