Home lifestyle & culture TURKISH DELIGHT!

Gorgeous influencer and content creator Sobia Saleem, aka the ‘green-eyed gurl’, shares highlights from her recent trip to Turkey

Where did you go?
SOBIA SALEEM: Turkey! Turkish dramas made me fall in love with this beautiful country, and I thought it was about time that I went and experienced it on my own.

What inspired you to go there?
SS: I consider travelling a good way to enjoy a relaxing time, whenever I am tired with this regular life of mine. Going to different cities or countries, blending into different cultures, meeting new people and making some amazing memories, all these things are therapeutic for me

What was the highlight of your trip?
SS: Visiting Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Galata Tower, Istiklal Street – Istanbul is LOVE!
Apart from this, Alacati and Bodrum are two cities that I would recommend everyone to visit.

Travel must-haves…
SS: Portable charger, Sunscreen, Disinfecting Wipes and Face Masks. These things top my list!

Any travel tips you would like to share with our readers?
SS: The earlier you book, the cheaper the flights.
Use Google Translator – that was my lifeline there.
Do your research. Get to know your destination in depth before you arrive.
Travel insurance is a MUST.
Allow at least two to three hours between connecting flights.

Favourite places?
SS: Princess Island in Istanbul is absolutely beautiful.
Bitez Beach and Bodrum Marina – can’t get enough of that vibe!
Alacati because it’s such an insta-worthy place.
Istiklal street in Istanbul. One can never get tired of going there.

Favourite restaurant/food?
SS: Tried Nusr-Et and absolutely loved it! For a girl who is not the biggest carnivore, this place definitely turns you into one.

Would you do anything differently next time?
SS: Definitely going to experience the Hot Air Balloon Ride next time I visit Turkey. Also want to  visit Pamukkale and Antalya. Kept these two cities for next time!

Which destination is next on your bucket list?
SS: Bali or Spain for sure!
